Camping in Tromso
There is one campsite in Tromso, and several in the areas surounding the city. Regulation in Norway also stipulate that you can camp out in the nature - as long as you follow some simple rules.
In Norway everyone has the right to free access to nature and the wilderness. This means you can pitch your tent more or less anywhere for free – as long as you are on so called ‘unfenced land’, and as long as you show respect for both people and nature. In short, free areas include the majority of beaches, lakesides, mountains, woods and other unfenced, uncultivated land.
Read the Norwegian regulations on camping in the wild.
