American travel magazine, Travel and Leisure has listed Tromso in Northern Norway as one of the best places to go for a Christmas holiday.

On a list of the best ten places to go this Christmas Tromso is listed third, after Taos in New Mexico and San Miguel de Allenda in Mexico.

The magazine lists the northern lights, near guaranteed white Christmas as well as good food and dogsledding as the main selling points.

And according to the authors there is no better way to celebrate Christmas than to take in the winter from Clarion Hotel Bryggen's jaquzzi before tucking in to a traditional Norwegian christmas meal of pinnekjott and ribbe.
