Norwegian announce new direct route from London to Aalesund

The twice weekly departures will start up next year, but tickets will go on sale from June 1st 2010.

Great for Tourism

The new route is a result of lobbying by local actors and it is hoped that the route will give tourism in the area a boost.

“We believe these flights will contribute to a significant growth in tourists visiting the North-Western parts of Norway,” Communications Director in Norwegian, Anne Sissel Skaanvik told Sunnmorsposten.

Aalesund itself if known for being one of the most beautiful places in Norway, and famous landmarks such as the Geiranger Fjord and Trollstigen are short drives away.

April 2011 Start

The route will launch in April 2011, flying Saturdays and Tuesdays between Aalesund Vigra and London Gatwick.
