Northern lights cause tourism boom in Tromso
Northern lights holidays to Tromso in Northern Norway are gaining in popularity shows recent statistics.
Figures from the Statistical Bureau in Norway show foreign visitors to Northern Norway in February increased by 39 per cent compared to last year.
This means 4,400 more overnight stays in the region compare with the same month in 2009, writes iTromso.no.

Tromso sees the biggest increase in overnight stays, possibly much down to the ever increasing interest in the northern lights.
Tromso is one of the best places in the world to see the northern lights and Tromso is fast becoming one of the top spots for northern lights short-breaks.
The popular Joanna Lumley and the Northern Lights BBC documentary is likely to have enticed many foreign visitors to the region this year.

No Business for Business
Despite the good figures for foreign tourists, business travels are down in the region compared to last year.
The decline in business related over night stays was 23 per cent for February.
