North Cape is Most Popular

The northernmost point of mainland Europe is the most popular excursion on Hurtigruten.

Among the total of 40 different excursions and sights offered along the famous Hurtigruten cruise from Bergen to Kirkenes in Norway, the North Cape sails up as the most popular by far.

Northern Norwegian favourites

The North Cape, which is situated on 71 degrees north, was visited by nearly 40,000 Hurtigruten tourists last year, writes NRK.no.

On the list, Tromso, Midnight Sun concerts and Lofoten follows short, but visitor numbers for these are less than half of what the North Cape gets.

“The North Cape is an obvious highpoint along the voyage, and is goal for many of our guests.

“Everyone who has ever stood on the North Cape plateau and felt the overwhelming feeling would understand me. It is very unique,” says product manager Kristen Schultz in Hurtigruten to NRK.no.
