Alta Ice Hotel Wins Prestigious Tourism Award

Tourist centre Snorrisniva in Alta has been awarded the most prestigious award from Innovation Norway.

The centre, which offers snowmobile safaris, river tours as well as the Igloo Hotel Joanna Lumley stayed in whilst in Alta, fought off stiff competition for the prize.

In the jury’s decision Snorrisniva are praised for their use of the nature as well as creating sustainable jobs in the community.

"Snorrisniva are thinking outside the box. They have become an inspiration to the whole region. Through new thinking and focus on quality in every part of their business, they have become an important actor in the local community." (Innovation Norway)

In addition to both local and international attention the prize also comes with a cash award of 200,000kroner (approximately £20,000).
