Easier to become silver and gold passengers
Scandinavian Airlines are lowering the number of flights needed to become Gold and Silver Eurobonus card holders.
Previously, SAS Eurobonus members had to fly 25 yearly international SAS flights on business class to qualify for the Silver upgrade.
Now the airline have decided to also reward economy passengers, and lowered the qualifying amount of flights to 20.
Privileges for Gold and Silver Members
This means that 10 yearly return flights to the UK will give you the silver card Eurobonus card.
With a silver card you’re allowed an extra 10kg luggage at no extra cost, and you have priority check in.
Add an extra 15 flights a year, and the Gold Eurobonus card is yours, meaning you can enjoy the airport lounge even when flying economy.
Frequent Flyers Rewarded
At the moment around 3 percent of Eurobonus members have the gold card, and around 7 percent have the silver card.
“We feel those passengers who fly ten economy return flights with us should get some extra benefits; even if it is not the most expensive ticket they’re on. That’s why we’re changing the rules to make silver and gold cards more achievable,” says Geir Lauritzen in SAS Eurobonus to Reiselivsavisen.no.
Eurobonus have 2,8 million members and Eurobonus points can be used on all Star Alliance flights.
