Flights get cheaper

Airline ticket prices has fallen by 20 percent in the last year.

Stiff competition, expensive fuel and people travelling less because of the financial downturn is bad news for airlines around the world.

This has lead to carriers lowering prices like never before in a bid to fill up their flights, writes Aftenposten.

In just one year, the average ticket price has dropped by 20 percent, both in economy and business.

It is not only budget airlines like Ryanair who have dropped prices to a minimum. Scandinavian Airlines launched the largest ever cheap tickets campaign in Norway this autumn, by releasing 650,000 discounted seats.
