More about the trip:

Drive across some of Norway´s most beautiful mountain areas and down to Bergen, on this week long self drive adventure. Rental car and all accommodation included in the package price.

Day 1: Arriving in Norway

A NordicVisitor representative will meet you on arrival at Oslo Gardermoen airport and take you to your hotel in the centre of Oslo.

The rest of the day you will have the chance to explore some of Oslo`s many sights on your own.

Day 2: Mountains of Norway

Before picking up your rental car, visit the Norwegian Folk Museum in Bydgoy to learn more about life in Norway in the old days.

In your rental car, drive out of Oslo and head north up the Hallingdal valley.

This scenic route takes you up to Geilo, one of Norway´s most well known ski resorts. In summer this is a beautiful mountain village.

Spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse in Geilo.

Day 3: Hardangervidda National Park

Today you will drive through the Hardangervidda National Park and down to the inner parts of the beautiful Hardanger fjord.

On your way you will pass some impressive scenery, including Norway´s highest waterfall and the Hardanger Joekulen glacier.

The day ends in Bergen, one of Norway´s most popular cities with tourists.

Day 4: Exploring Historical Bergen

Today you can leave the car parked and spend the day exploring Bergen.

Take the cable car up to the town mountain for great views of the city and the surrounding area, or just relax in one of Bergen´s many cafes.

Make sure you catch the famous fish market and see the UNESCO listed Bryggen area.

Spend another night in your Bergen accommodation.

Day 5: Fjords and Tranquil Villages

Today you have the option of heading to Voss, one of Norway´s most popular extreme sports spots. Here there are many activities on offer for every level.

Alternatively, you can drive to the Aurlandsfjord and visit Flaam, the village where the famous train journey takes you up to the mountain village of Myrdal and back.

Afterwards, you pass the longest and deepest fjord in Norway, the Sognefjord, before arriving at your hotel or guesthouse in the Laerdal area.

Day 6: Borgund Stave Church and Back to Oslo

Before heading back across the mountains, visit the well preserved Borgund stave church.

The drive across the mountains back to Oslo is a scenic one and has plenty of opportunities for you to stop and take in the views.

Spend the night in a hotel or guesthouse in Oslo city centre.

Day 7: Heading Home

If you flight leaves in the afternoon, you will have time to explore Oslo a bit more before taking the express train to Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
